Seerah Relationship Map is a personal project: an explorable map of the Prophet ﷺ, his family and the Companions, showing who is whose son, daughter, wife, brother, mawla or ally. No relationship can be approved for the public map without a classical (tier 1–2) citation.
Contributions enter as research with their citations and go to a reviewer, who approves or returns them. Only approved records reach the scope the explorer reads, and the whole database, drafts included, is versioned in git as a JSON corpus. Where sources disagree about a genealogy, the record keeps the disagreement.
The explorer draws a D3 force layout on a 2D canvas, with generations in bands: parents above, children below, spouses beside. Pages are server-side rendered through Inertia, and the admin area uses shadcn/ui.
How it works

Engineering decisions
- Nothing reaches the public explorer until a reviewer approves it with a classical (tier 1–2) citation.
- The data model keeps uncertainty and scholarly disagreement instead of resolving them silently.
- One Inertia and React frontend serves both sides: a shadcn/ui admin for the editorial pipeline and a D3 force layout on a 2D canvas for the public explorer.
- Records move from draft to submitted to approved. Editors submit, reviewers approve, and admins manage users, sources and imports, with every step in an activity log.
